How To Make Wheat Free Flaxseed & Chia Wraps

Even before I start this new diet I’m worried about how I’m going to replace a sandwich.  At least once a day I usually have a wholemeal salad and tuna sandwich which now, due to the exclusion of all wheat, is off limits.  Over the last few weeks I have experimented with several wheat free bread and wrap recipes. I’m happy to say that I have found a recipe which requires few ingredients plus is very easy to make in less than ten minutes which is ideal for me.  I have “tweaked” the recipe a little to my exact liking. I must say I find these wraps extremely tasty to such a degree I would prefer them in preference to any wheat bread.

Flaxseed and Chia Wrap

Ingredients

  • 3 x tbsp. ground Flaxseed
  • 1 x tbsp. Chia
  • ¼ tsp. of baking powder
  • 1 x tbsp. Olive Oil
  • 2 x tbsp. water
  • 1 x large egg

 

How To Make Flaxseed and Chia Wraps

To make 1 wrap.

Add 3 x tbsp. of ground Flaxseed to a small jug

Add 1 x tbsp. of Chia

Add 1/4  tsp. of baking powder

Mix all the dry ingredients together.

Now add 1 x tbsp. of Olive Oil

2 x tbsp. of water

Once again mix all the ingredients.

Add 1 x large egg

Whisk the mix for a couple of minutes.

Pour the mix onto a dinner plate.

Rotate and tilt the plate so the mix is evenly spread across the plate.

Microwave the mix for 2 minutes.

Allow to cool for 1 minute.

Use a spatula to life the wrap from the plate and flip.

Fill with wheat free foods for a very tasty snack!
