Wheat Free Diet Plan

The main part of my diet plan is from the excellent book Wheat Belly by Dr William Davis. So let me break down my proposed diet plan into sections starting with all the foods that I will strictly eliminate from my diet.

Foods Strictly Now Allowed

  • All foods that include any wheat-based products including
  • All bread (white & wholemeal
  • All cereals
  • Noodles
  • All pasta
  • Bagels
  • Pancakes
  • Waffles, Muffins & donuts
  • Crackers & pretzels
  • All Oats & oatmeal
  • All corn-starch products including sauces
  • All cornmeal products
  • All sugar drinks
  • All fried foods
  • All fast foods
  • All hydrogenated fats
  • All cure meats such as hot dogs, sausages, bacon etc.
  • Fat free & low fat salad dressings


Limited Foods

  • Fruit limited to 2 servings per day
  • Only 4oz of real fruit juice per day
  • Switching to Almond milk instead of skimmed or semi skimmed milk


Eat Unlimited

  • Vegetables excluding potatoes, sweet potatoes and yams.
  • Raw seeds & nuts such as walnuts, almonds, hazelnuts etc.
  • Healthy oils such as olive, flaxseed and coconut.
  • Red Meats
  • Chicken and general poultry
  • Fish
  • Real cheeses (not processed)
  • Guacamole& hummus
  • Mustard, oil based salad dressings, mayonnaise and ketchup without fructose


It’s going to be tough as I have fed myself on wheat all my life. I will be posting  my complete food intake at the end of each day so you can see what I’m actually eating and of course how I’m doing.

My wheat free journey starts as soon as I return from a short holiday on Jan 3rd 2015.
